At Tour, the catchment area is located below the glacier front but is exposed almost everywhere to significant ice pinnacle collapses.
As with Argentière, the main outflows of the glacier are most often captured without an intake structure, and diverted into a collection tunnel making a circuit around the corrie forming the valley under the glacier. It is also on this artificial stream that the intake openings and settling works are installed.
